Our Story
Dr. Melissa Simmons, CEO of Mclan Enterprises, LLC, brings over 33 years of accounting, auditing, budgeting, and managerial experience. Her extensive background includes:

Certified Business Administrator, Qualified Purchasing Agent, Controller, and Auditor. Instructor for NJEXCEL in School Finance and Facilities. President, Vice President, and Chairperson for the New BA Committee for Bergen County ASBO, providing training for new Business Administrators. Certified mentor for NJASBO and certified coach.
As a former auditor with Peat Marwick & Main, she was an auditor for various Fortune 500 and large governmental agencies. Moved into management with Frye, Williams. She managed the audit of various school districts, including Plainfield, East Orange, Orange, Jersey City, and Paterson, to name a few. Eventually, she moved to work for school districts, including the Public School Districts of Paterson, Jersey City, Mine Hill, Chester, and Teaneck, managing budgets from $8 million to $700 million in various school districts.
Successfully led Jersey City Public Schools out of state control into local control in Finance and Facilities by developing internal controls to resolve 72 audit findings and was awarded the Financial Excellence Award in accounting and finance for seven years.
